Assuming you have an MS9 there are posts on the chassis to adjust the cut offs and geometry.

And on the remote board controls for the contrast, gains and sizing.

Hi Yosai,

Yes this I know.

What happens when I follow the guide of geotrig.
I put all rgb cut off down, rgb gain, brightnes and contrast down under the panel.
Turn the screen pot down in the back till I get a black screen.
See picture it's black.

The following step of the guide is to turn the brightness up only half. Then I get the following picture where you can already see it's very blue. Screen should still be black according to the guide.
But the blue cut off and gain is still turned fully down.

So something with the blue is faulty or something else?

No but if I turn the green cut off up then you can see the green block but also the background gets green.

Colour levels won't be equal. One colour can show stronger than the other two. It's a 30 year old tube at this point.

So with calibrating I can't do anything about it anymore? It needs fixing?

no start adjusting the gains and pots to see if you can get it to show similar to the guide where it shows all colours equally this takes time, i'm not sure ive seen one where the green has been missing as much when all pots fully turned down. As i said myself I'm not a fan of brightness set high so always adjust downwards as much as possible afterwards.

Well I'm fiddling with the pots but can't get it right.
Also according to the guide when everything is turned down only brightness to half the screen should still be black.
As you can see mine is blue. Adjusting the other colors only make the background different colors but not black.

It's a guide, not strict instructions - once you get the hang of how things hang together it'll be easy. The monitor in my Pony plays a bit different to the guide and I compensate for it.

You had a great looking result earlier - can you show something other than MVS colour bars? (MVS is terrible for adjusting pots)

I know I need to have color bars which will fade away. But this MVS board is the only one I have at the moment. It has only 4 clear color blocks.

That's likely why you're struggling - when you can't see the difference between light and dark per colour it's impossible to set up, when you adjust a gain the cutoff will need readjusting. I don't think there's anything wrong with your monitor!

as cools says you had a pretty good coloured image earlier , these tweeks can take ages to get right and vary for every monitor ,your cuttoffs and gains will need small adjustments back and forth
What happens if you only turn it ,the brightness, by about a 1/4 instead of 1/2 turn.

i still think your image earlier in the thread was ok just set too high on contrast and britness maybe. but again my prefernce is for a duller less bright image

Adjusted some things to get it as before.

On the video it looks more bright then it actually is, also colors are a bit more vivid in reality.
You can see the shadow when the neo geo intro is flipping.
Als in Matrimelee you see it that white background is not totally white, what is not a big issue for me.
But when you see the letter coming through the screen you see a more white shadow effect right from the letters.

I can see the screen burn coming through in Matrimelee.

I can see some of the contrast problem coming through on the SNK logo in the Metal Slug video.

Blue still seems too high. You might need to push the red and green up a bit to compensate and bring the brightness down.

I know it's hard to stop fiddling, but I'd leave it alone until you can get something with colour gradients. If I had time I'd go mess with my MS8 to replicate your problem.

The burnin I knew about when I bought the cab.
You can see it the best on a white background. Fortunately with playing you almost can't see it.

Yes I think I will stop fiddling around. The seller will send me a neckboard so I can check if that will fix the issue.

Can you install a Unibios on your motherboard? Unibios has color bars in the test menu.
