Yoke rotation is risky or difficult?

It's neither, but you have to do it with the monitor on. So if you're anxious, it's probably best to leave it alone.

Basically you pull out the monitor, and put it on the floor in front of the cab. Unclip the monitor wiring, pull that out from the service door. Loosen the screw on the base of the yoke. Put both of your hands around the yoke (on the left and right outer edge of the plastic cone) and twist it. Don't pull or push. You just have to twist it enough that the glue holding the yoke to the mounting wedges will separate and you can feel the yoke rotating freely around the tube. Connect the monitor to the monitor wiring, turn the cab on, put up a crosshatch screen, rotate the yoke as necessary (again, hands on the plastic), and when you have it looking good, turn off the cab. Tighten the screw on the base of the yoke. You can put silicon adhesive on where the yoke is resting on the wedges to keep it from moving. However, this is isn't strictly necessary, as the screw alone should keep it in place pretty good too. Turn the cab on and make sure the yoke hasn't moved from tightening the screw. If the image is horizontally straight, make further adjustments with the pots on the chassis for vertical adjustment, put the monitor back in the cab. Congratulate yourself.

What not to do: don't stick your fingers under the anode cap. Don't touch the poles on top of the yoke. Don't touch the back of the neck board.

Wear rubber gloves if it makes you feel better.
