Astro City MS9, red lines on dark background
Hi,
when I run something with a black background I see red lines in it.
In game I can't see these, they disappear within other colors. Just on dark scenes they come back.
I tried to adjust the R-Gain on the remote, the image doesn't change at all.
Other Gain options still work and even a slight adjust changes the color.
The remove itself is working, the output.
When I lower the red brightness on a Namco System 12 they also disappear.
Also in Namco System 12 Interlaced they get a lot smaller, but maybe double? Didn't count them :/
Tried with other games, these lines are always there, not only in this game.
Can this issue be fixed?
Greetings,
Martin

red cut off is what you need-its on the main chassis
you may have a fault in the red drive circuit though

Added pictures of the problem.
Will see if I can adjust the red cut off, is there any default values for these pots I can start with?

No default values. Just a slight turn counter-clockwise and it will be fixed.GermanDarknes wrote: ↑March 29th, 2020, 10:25 pmWill see if I can adjust the red cut off, is there any default values for these pots I can start with?

The pot seems to be at the end (counter-clock wise) already. Rotating clock-wise and it just gets worse.
So this seems like a bigger problem.

No, it could also mean that the other 2 values are low, you will need to adjust Blue and Green cut offs.

Re: Astro City MS9, red lines on dark background
you can do as said and up both the blue and green cut offs and adjust brightness
if you have an overly red screen with no video signal attached then i would suggest you have a leaky diode or transistor in the red drive circuit, if not then the game board maybe at fault- if it is a drive issue then the problem will get progressively worse over some time

Re: Astro City MS9, red lines on dark background
Thanks for the replies.
I don't think it's a game issues, tried several games now and all got this issue.
Any tipp on how do I get the monitor running without a video signal?
Will try to adjust the other 2 pots tomorrow.
Ingame the red level seems totally fine, even a very light black is nearly black. Just menus and e.g. Game Over screen on Metal Slug has these red bars. Also the Pi2Jamma got these, would say nearly unusable because the menu is barely readable with this.

Re: Astro City MS9, red lines on dark background
Okay, so the blue and green pots also where at the end. I now put them a bit lower and lowered the brightness. While white is a bit dark now, the screen has a black, just solid black, wonderful
Mr. Driller is now a bit darker, but that's okay.
Thanks a lot for the suggestion!
Update: Monitor is back in, there's a really really small red line left, just visible when the eye touches the monitor... so I'm very thankful for these tips!
