Dreaded Weiya C3129D issue

Post by nvs »

Hi folks.

Helping a friend out with an Atomiswave - any quick pointers on this issue with the C3129D? Other than throw it in the trash which seems to be the fave course of action for these!

Vertical IC? Easily sourced replacement?

Thanks in advance.

that looks like deflection yoke, you would need to test on another tube

Thanks Grant. Going to be near impossible for us to test with another tube around here though.

Is there any point in trying to replace the vertical IC or is this an unlikely fix?

well i guess its worth a shot but it does look like yoke as you have severe distortion on the horizontal as well

is the tube a dual focus type?

Well I had a defective vertical IC on one of these and it showed just a flat horizontal line, not what you are having.
