Hi,

Could someone tell what is the component circled in red on the following pic?: (MS9-29T chassis)
Image

And where could i find a spare one if needed ?
(mine seems to have a white "popping" on the top, and i suspect it could become faulty one of these days...)

Thanks for your help!

It's a high voltage polypropylene capacitor.

The marking on it seems to read 103J2KV, which I think deciphers to:

103J = 10000pf or 10nf or 0.01uf
2KV = 2000V

Maybe someone can confirm.

The three brown caps (C504/505/506) form the retrace capacitor in parallel with the damper diode. They are are very important and at this point it would be a good idea to replace them. C504 is what nem said and is easy to find. C506 is 0.039uF 400V, also easy to find but C505 is 9100pF 2KV and this capacitance is not as common. Big distributors such as Digikey, Mouser, etc. don't carry it and minimum order is hundred or thousand pieces. You can find some on ebay hoping they are good.

Thanks to both of you !

So i found these sources online:

0.01uf 2000V
--> https://www.tedss.com/2020098040
--> https://www.ebay.fr/itm/0-01uF-10nF-200 ... 3321258436

0.039uf 400V
--> https://www.tedss.com/2020062604

And i'm unable to find the other one for now... so i sent an inquire to tedss.com

Could you confirm me that the ones from tedss.com are the good ones please ?
(i don't know the difference between "FILM POLYPROPYLENE RADIAL" and "FILM METALLIZED POLYPROPYLENE RADIAL"...)

Size and lead spacing are also parameters to take into account. For C504 and C505 lead spacing is 20mm, for C506 it can be either 15mm or 20mm. If you get the boxy non-Japanese types, lead spacing needs to be exact as they have pretty short leads. Your first link is 25.4mm but if the leads are long it should be possible to bend them to fit the PCB holes. My advice is to first desolder the caps, check actual values, size and lead spacing and then order.
