Adjusting Aero table color.

Post by SailorLodestar »

Doesn't this look like it's an issue that can be resolved by adjusting the rgb dials?

Also, any tips on adjusting the monitor? The aero table doesn't have a detached remote and I don't want to kill myself poking the monitor.

your gains and cut offs are badly adjusted, this will be a ms8 chassis i expect- they do not act like other chassis in regards to colour adjustments

That absolutely can be fixed with adjusting the monitor.

But yeah, what grantspain said, adjusting them is different to almost any other monitor. Changing gains offsets the cutoffs and there's no unified contrast control.

It's still my favorite monitor though. Looks amazing when dialed in.

So I got an insulated screwdriver, and a glove and adjusted the pots on the side of the monitor. It looks like the monitor is actually incapable of rendering the full bar of red. I had to use the "bias" dials in conjunction with the gains in order to get the bars next to the end and the colors somewhat balanced. (red still doesn't reach the end)

Now the color looks a lot more balanced than it did but everything is oversaturated.

I'm not sure what to do. :(

Yeah, r bias should’ve helped that.
Be careful with the h-size pot with the ferrite core. They break easily. Only use a plastic trimming tool.

So I've balanced the pots in all sort of ways. I just my four-player harness to match colors to my astro city. Now with red green and blue matched, certain browns are showing as black.

Does anyone have advice or know of a guide on adjusting a 26 inch ms8? Maybe I do just need to send it out for repair.

It took me many attempts on the MS8 in my Pony before I understood it, and I'm not sure I could explain how.

20+ year old chassis? I'd definitely get it serviced by a pro at this stage.

Yeah it looks like I might be able to get the colors close now but the screen's not that bright and the picture has wavy warping some times after being turned on and off.

Also, thanks for giving me the heads up about the yahoo auction listing! As you can see, it finally came.
