Tosh A68KJU96X Nanao MS8 not working - technical help needed
Well, simple question, because I'm a bloody noob with chassis swaps:
I received a Toshiba A68KJU96X tube with a Nanao MS8 chassis and would like to swap it with a already deep cleaned MS9, which I have in another cab.
Would this combo be a plug and play setup? Or is there a deeper knowlege needed?

Re: Tosh A68KJU96X Nanao MS8 -> MS9 swap
it will work but yoke connectors are different, ms9 uses 2 x 2 pin connectors and one of those has a narrower gauge for the vertical header

I've got an ms9 chassis on an ms8 tube and it works fine (as above) but the image is quite narrow. CPS3 for example will not fit the screen. Wider games like CPS2 are fine.

So it works, but I have to live with a not 100% accurate picture? :/
Guess I will stick with the MS8 then, thanks guys!

I'm not sure about this, I swapped the the h.s pin to the wide position then adjusted the "h.size limit" pot a bit and all of the games I have tried so far fill the screen no problem, cps3 included.
p.s: when you touch h.size limit its most likely that you will also need to adjust pin cushion.

Soooo:
Received a MS9 chassis now, where could I get such a 4-pin plug as seen here:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Adapter-Yoke-Ch ... %7Ciid%3A1
(35€ for the cable seem like a complete ripoff to me btw.)
Is there anything else necessary to fit a MS9 chassis on my tube?

Again, thanks a lot PrincessPrinPrin
The last thing that troubles me, is the 6-pin plug coming from the PSU:
The plug doesn't match unfortunately, could I just cut it away and solder the cable to the pins? Or does anyone know which female plug I need for the MS9 PCB?

I take it the pinout is the same as the MS9 but reversed, right?

Yes, it is the same, 5 pins are used:
R, G, B, Ground, V

Yes, but the pinout is reversed as far as I see:

Yes, I think it's reversed most likely

Re: Tosh A68KJU96X Nanao MS8 -> MS9 swap
Oh boy, I need some further advice unfortunately...
I've attached the MS9 chassis with the adapter cable from PrincessPrinPrin to my tube and: nothing.
No neck glow, no static, absolutely dead.
Everything is plugged in, so where should I start? What could be the reason? Chassis dead?

Have you plugged in the AC wires from the 15-pin AMP UP connector to the chassis? Take a pic of the chassis as it is wired now.

Re: Tosh A68KJU96X Nanao MS8 -> MS9 swap
Here we go, is everything plugged in correctly nem?
Tried it again with the monitor out and theres really nö sign of voltage.
I've tested the cab with another (faulty) chassis before and theres definately power on the cable coming from the PSU.

It was plugged in of course, just removed it to get the monitor out. It doesn't make any difference unfortunately.
