Where to get parts

Post by grantspain »

If you have the technical know how to repair your monitor but are finding it difficult to find the parts then there are companies and internet sites that you can use.
Sometimes you may find a component is obsolete,in this situation cross reference for a replacement by simply using google to find the datasheet on the original.

Grant,

http://uk.mouser.com/

This a good company to add to your list. I have found a couple of things here I can't find elsewhere. Actual unit costs are very competitive, they sell some good makes as well. Shipping is a killer if you only want the odd item. £12 even if it is just a single component like a transistor. But free delivery over £50 if you need to stock up on stuff as well or have some expensive bits like HOTs to order.

RS is good for shipping if you only want the odd capacitor or whatever. Not the best for unusual stuff but they can order stuff in! They have a few trade counters so, like me, could be local to you to. They have your order ready 15 mins after placing it.

Hey, i have been trying to reach grantspain about this monitor board i have. I read on the another site that was regarding a problem with it and grantspain pointed to a site where to get the schematics but no longer exists.
there is a horizontal line across the screen so the vertical sync is out. here is a picture of the board if anybody could help me out that would be so appreciated!
thanks

Had a really great experience with http://console5.com/store/", it needs sharing! :)

I recently needed a cap kit put together on a Toshiba A59JMZ90X with a TOEI - MODEL TC-RM25T Chassis. Lets just say it was not easy to hunt down a list of caps and a place to source them easily. Took me a couple of months. The only options I seemed to have were to buy each cap in bulk.

A nice chap on here pointed me in the direction of a list of caps for a chassis very similar to my one. It wasn't 100% the same, but it was close.

The guy on the above site had previously sold me a Vectrex cap kit. I emailed him on the off chance he knew anything about arcade monitors - he was more than willing to try to put a kit together for my arcade monitor.

So he took the AO linked list of caps, compared it to a bucket load of photos I sent him of my chassis and put together a cap kit for me.

And it ran perfectly, first time. Couldn't believe it!

Anyway, if you can supply him with a list of caps it looks like he can put kits together on request. My one only came to $14.95 too. :)

https://www.donberg.ie/ can supply HR Diemen flyback transformers. Ordering is a bit unusual but price and shipping are fair.
