Nanao Chassis modele inquiry

I just bought this chassis on ebay. I cannot identify its model. Personaly I guess it could be an MS8-18 FB but there isn't any ref. sticker on it.
The seller precised ''original'', but I doubt all the parts are originals. The reasons are the following:
1. some wires which rely the small back pcb to the main one were hooked togeter with some heat shrink tube (their color change from one side to the other).
2. Nanao isn't written on the small back pcb (don't know the way to name it...).
3. When the white box is open, we can clearely see the black 18awg wire widely resoldered.

Btw, the main pcb looks ok, but they are some parts that I couldn't identify:
p.s. I heard we can connect a degaus on this chassis, maybe the plug#2 is for that use?

Here, two pics of the small back pcb of my formers MS8-18A & 18B chassis:

Here, some pics of an MS8-18FB chassis that I captured from Yahoo. We can see clearely the difference with its green back small pcb (we can also see some black plugs on its top side)

p.s. maybe my chassis is an ''FA'' model (I guess it should exists), maybe that's why the back pcb looks different, but this don't explain why the wires were cutted and linked and why there isn't any Nanao written on it...

The story:
A guy bought it before me, but since he had a 26'', this chassis didn't fit, so he send it back to the seller. Then I asked the seller if it's an MS8-18 and he confirmed it to me. But he don't know the final refs.

i think the ms8-18 does not have a pincushion pot, i have only worked on a few

The blue button (jumper) is a image sharpness button, press it and try, the connector you have pointed out is a degaussing connection, I have one of these chassis but the 26inch version.

Pls could you point where is this pincushion pot on my pics?
Did you compare if this pot is present on the 18FB model shown on the last pic (looks to be similar to the one I bought)?

hopper:
I don't have the wire, but I could make it. I guess it should be JST:
- would be 4 wires of 18 awg ok (same as the ones I used for my PSU)?
- how should the other side looks (is there a switch, or a button at the end, unfortunately I don't see the end of this wire on the FB model pics)?

Other thing:
can I change the small pcb with one of some older models I shown upper (one of the A or B model, since one of them is junk..)

pincushion is not needed on smaller tubes in general, the pot is marked SPC but all the components relating to that circuit will be missing- just like in your photo

Ok, so ''pincushion'' means concave/convex, I see now. Your deduction has sens, but if you refer to the pic taken from the MS8-18FB model shown upper (that I took from Yahoo), the same empty emplacement is also present (I zoomed it below) but the pot is missing, just like in my chassis. So, this detail about the SPC isn't relevant enough to deduce the size of the monitor compatibility I guess.

The main chassis is a Nanao MS8-18FB (no T532 and all the other pincushion parts). The neckboard is from a different chassis, probably an old Sanwa (which are marked PC followed by numbers).

For manual degaussing you need to wire the connector like this, i.e. the blue wires go to a single pole single throw momentary switch like a game button. For automatic degaussing the blue wire is permanently connected across the pins. The connector is JST VH (9 pin):

Thanks!!
Can I change this Sanwa neckboard with one of my other models of Nanao?
About degauss: what's the difference between auto and manual?

Manual you press a button, auto it degauses when you turn the cab on.

Ok, thanks for that info.
If I want automatic, where should I connect the other side of the wire?

Anyway, can I replace the sanwa neckboard with the one of my Nanao?

Don't do it, Sanwa is made in Japan, Nanao is also made in Japan, but using chinese workers, so you'll end up with a 89.7% japanese part sitting in your cab :hinthint:

>copados33: Of course! How could I forget this..

Please I'd like your opinion on the followings:
- if I want automatic, where should I connect the other side of the wire (can I have a quick shema)?
- can I replace the sanwa neckboard with the one of my older Nanao (since the nanao neckboard I want to put on is ms8-18A)?
p.s. concerning the 2nd question: precisely, I'm worrying about any risk of malfunction (can it hurt irreversibly the chassis or the tube)?
