ms9 geometry issue

Post by sugar4salt »

Hi. I have question regarding geometry issue with MS9.

As you can see on picture below, most of pincushions are OK except lower left side.

You can see the length of difference better with this picture.

As you can see, from these pictures, left side of screen is shorter than right side, especially on the bottom. I tried to fix it with pots but with no luck.

Last picture to help to see my geometry.

I really want to fix this issue on ms9 so please help~
Thank you.

The geometry looks great I reckon. It’s best not to obsess over the test grid or similar patterns - you’ll never get it 100% perfect. Can you even notice when you’re playing a game?

Actually, it does noticeable during a game play. First picture came out better than actual picture. Few inch of bottom right is unable to see it because of difference in length.

Back to the topic, is there any way to fix this?

The way I fixed mine is I pushed the yoke back in a little. Had the same problem on mine. It's not so much an ms9 or even a chassis issue here. Sometimes gravity and the elements just does it's thing here.

That being said the picture looks great. I wouldn't mess with it too much. :) Mine was a lot more severe than that.
While playing a beat-em-up, everyone turned into Calista Flockheart when they moved to the right.

Screw up the screen by janking on the yoke?
The picture is fine, it is not a digital pc monitor but an analogue device. Don't screw it up.

Agreed, just sharing my experience there. I wouldn't screw with it too much like I said before as the picture already looks good.

Last night, I have pushed yoke back little bit as Sunder suggested. Had hard time doing cause it kept coming back to original position. Anyway, I have done it and pretty satisfy with result.

It is not 100% fit as LCD screen but I am sure this is much much better than I posted few days ago.
My great thanks to Sunder.
