Toshiba PF visual/geometry adjustment

Post by superboredom »

Hey,

After a re-cap I've got a living Toshiba PF, albeit with some geometry/convergence issues. I've modded the remote board and I've played around with the settings a bit, but I'm not entirely sure what I should be changing.

The convergence stuff I imagine I'm going to have to mess with the rings, so I'll look into that separately.

The geometry issue can best be described as the two lower corners bending in towards the center. See pics:

One thing to note, is that my extended menus differ a bit from what's on the Wiki. My monitor config is D29CQ51.

Any thoughts on what setting would be the best to try to adjust this? Thanks for any help!

that is convergence, you will probably need to add convergence strips to sort that amount out

That can be adjusted with the dynamic convergence trimmer YHC on the yoke:

Huh, that's new to me! I'll have to try that as I have similar issues.

Wow, didn't knew this either. :-o
Exactly what I need.

I wonder if something like that is possible on Weya Egret 3 and Blast City chassis too?

These adjustments are found on flat (and sometimes on semi-flat) tubes. Hence, you're likely to see them on later hi-res monitors and 100Hz TVs.

OMG what did he just do?! :-o

Flicking that switch, pointing at some pots with a precision screwdriver and then magic happens on the screen :awe: ..wish I knew what he was saying or at least what he was adjusting to get the lines to converge - I don't want to go and fiddle with mine without knowing what I'm prodding :fastlove:

Hmm, unfortunately it doesn't appear that my yoke has those pots (https://imgur.com/a/2zZr2).

Tweaking the static convergence seems relatively straightforward, however the dynamic convergence (via the strips) seems a bit daunting:

This appears to be mostly a dynamic convergence issue, correct?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
