A guy near to me has 18" Hitachi tubes available dirt cheap, all brand new old stock still in packaging. Any reason (other than maybe curvature) I can't swap one of these in as a replacement if the need ever arises?
I'm tempted to pick up a couple just as backups.

Re: Mini Cute replacement tube question
I'm pretty sure they are not 18" tubes with 17" viewable screen as used in the Cute but rather 19" tubes with a 18" viewable screen which were common in PC monitors. Do you have any pics or tube type numbers?

Re: Mini Cute replacement tube question
As I thought it's a 19" (18V) replacement tube for PC monitors. Size is not right and it's double focus. Keep your money for something else.
When in doubt about tube sizes, check the size chart in the wiki:

Thanks PrincessPrinPrin! It looked like a long-shot, but it would have been worse to go "Oh, they're probably not right" and find out they had been months from now.
