Hey gang,
I have a Neo Candy 25 that has a beautiful screen but lately it seems to only survive for an hour or two before playing blind. I would assume something on the chassis is getting too hot and shuts down the chassis to protect it. When it goes out I do hear what sounds like arcing but I cant identify where it comes from, its not the flyback and isnt as intense as flyback arcing. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

next time you power it up give the cab a bang on the side-see if the fault is recreated

Have you checked the anode cap for any signs of cracking, and make sure it's firmly seated? (discharge before checking)

You might be onto something, yesterday I pulled the cab away from the wall to inspect the chassis after turning it on and rolled it back into position. It didnt act up for the rest of the day. Im going to see if it behaves today as well but that makes me think something is loose somewhere.grantspain wrote:next time you power it up give the cab a bang on the side-see if the fault is recreated

yah it will be a bad solder joint or connection
extremely rare for chassis to suffer heat related shut downs-unless there was no conductive sheet or compound between the HOT and heatshield
