Outrun sit down monitor model

Post by ar2r »

Hi,
I am looking for the information about the monitor that was installed in outrun standard and deluxe sit down cabinets.
Manual is saying 26" but cannot find anything more than this.

Any info welcome.
Thank you

If you have a schematic diagram in the manual, as it often was the case with sega, then the information you are looking for is probably written in there. If anything fails, post photos of your chassis and ppl here is gonna be able to identify it.
My 15kHz cabinet Peplos will never power up, with any item, and I am quite proud of that.

The manual in not very descriptive (unless i am missing something)

KR-0005 ASSY CLR DSPL 26 TYPE

I have two tubes without chassis that apparently came out of those cabinets but the stickers are unreadable.
would like to find working chassis to check if those are ok.

Yep, the KR-0005 is just Sega's internal product code for the entire monitor assembly. Meh :problem:
Maybe you can post a photo of those tubes and measure the DC resistances of the yoke coils. Grantspain might be able to identify those tubes anyway based on those data. I am not able to help any further than this unfortunately. :(

i've seen one, can't remember if it was a mc-2600 the deflection coil connector should denote which chassis it may be
the original 20" was a sega/nanao mc-2000-s

Although it seems grant can handle this without the measurement, just for the sake of completeness:

1) Take a multimeter
2) Set it for ohm (resistance) measurements, in the low ohm range (up to 200 ohms)
3) Connect the probes to the COM and OHM terminals of the multimeter
4) Point the probes at the 4 wires coming out of the yoke around the neck of the tube
5) Two wires will measure a value different than the other two. Note them down.

Thank you for the instructions. I will try to do the measurements as soon as I have access.
For now I have some pictures from someone who was able to get to the storage but for some reason cannot attach them.

All you can read is from the sticker is
Mitsubishi 670EKB22

Monitor model
+ Sega Part # / 200-5009
+ MC-2600-SB
+ Color Display Assy,26 Type 100v
Color Picture Tube
+ Mitsubishi 670EKB22
+ E-58966
+ LR42053

very difficult to find these-next option is to match a replacement chassis to the deflection yoke

Thank you grantspain

Looks like it is not worth the hassle as I do not know what state those tubes are.
