I am making this thread to document the process of recapping an EU Hantarex POLO 25" monitor , I decided to do that because after searching I only found partial info on the capacitors needed , or scattered info buried in threads or cap kits that are missing capacitors... maybe it's a regional thing and cap kits are complete for US/JP but they certainly are not for EU monitors.
I have used as a base the Cap Map created my Aval0n here: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showpos ... stcount=13 , so credits to him for that
What I did was to add the Pincushion Board caps , the missing C108 that my boards have , verified the marked polarity and add a capacitor list also stating what the original capacitor maker/series was.
I'd also post this on KLOV forum like the picture suggests but registering there seems it's not enough, you need either a recommendation or donation to post...

I used this excellent page as a general guide for the job: http://www.organizedmassconfusion.org/h ... intenance/
After desoldering the components I ended up with this:
...and this is the main board after cleaning and removing the capacitors:
Searched for the capacitor datasheets that I could find (chemicon SME / SMG and Daewoo RSS series) and it seems that all are general purpose 2000hrs/85degrees ones. If anyone can verify or check the other series used and comment on that please do
For now I need to purchase some quality caps - the downside is that I must order them and wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive... naturally I'll get some quality Japanese caps, no cheaping out on this , will update the thread as work continues.
I also found this grey cable piece soldered to the neck board, anyone knows why it was soldered there? The monitor works fine without it being connected to anything, was this just an extra ground?
That's it for now, if you have any comments/tips/recommendations please post them , I am good at soldering jobs but my knowledge in crt workings is limited to the basics...
