New tubes for my samba de amigo cab

Post by eckart »

Hallo,
i bought a samba de amigo a view mounth ago.
Sadly it has not a proper picture.
Did somebody knows if i can take the tubes from the last toshiba 50" tv you see on ebay for example?
I mean after the year 2000?
Here is a nice tutorial how to change the tubes.

why not put in an lcd or later type lcd rptv
changing guns is not an easy job and finding guns without burn will not be easy

Grantspain, thanks! Guess you re right, but i try to keep it original.
Will try to find new tubes and than someone who set them in for me.
Not in a hurry.

Thanks Pete and TadCool!
The coolest thing about the cab is, that it has a subwoofer.
In the coindoor you can adjust the volume and the bass.:)

On the top there is a usb connector. Not sure for what it is for.

Hey eckhart,
what´s the problem with your monitor? I can see the blue in the lower corners, but I hope there can be a repair for this or maybe some adjustment?!
I have some similar problems with the SANWA 29E31SB in my NAOMI cab and today I started researching what to do.
The problem with mine is, at a plain white screen I can not only see the screenburn but also some blue and red spots/areas.
Looks like it has to be demagnetized but when I push the DEMAG button it doesn´t help.
So the question for me and probably you is, will it help to demag/degauss it with a Degaussing Coil like here at youtube?

Is there someone who can tell us something about that?

Hi Shadolf,
intersting video...
My tubes has screenburns and has to be change.
The samba monitor is a projektor monitor. Not a ctr like it is in a naomi.
Good luck for your ctr.;)

Interesting. I don´t know anything about backprojectionmonitors (Rückprojektionsmonitore) but after a little research I wonder why such monitor can get any screenburn.
Has your monitor a tube inside?

they have 3 tubes, red green and blue-all aiming at a mirror that then projects them onto specialised plastic sheets(x 2)

hallo eckard,

sorry, you are so right ;-) I tried to asked eckard, if he has any information how the maracas sensoric works? I tried already to get a manual from Sega US, UK and Japan but no positive result. As you can see there are two sensors direct on the left/right side of the monitor. I guess there are exact the same as in other sega shooters like "house of the dead II/III". But the big question is, what is inside the maracas? Any ideas? :-)

I guess they work like the dreamcast ones. Only difference on the cab, the signal is taken from in front.
You can adjust a screw in the maccaras. No idea for what this is.
