If anybody has done this before, may I ask how exactly you guys discharged your monitors? I need to replace the chassis and, while I know there is tons of info on discharging monitors out there, the design of this cab and the lack of metal frame around the monitor make it seem awkward/dangerous. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

Unplug from the mains, get a large screwdriver with a rubber handle. Get a decent bit of insulated wire and electrical tape the bare end to the metal on the screwdriver
Connect the other bare end of the wire to the metal that goes around the tube, it is usually a bit springy where it comes from the tube,

Stick you other hand in your back pocket just in case to stop you accidentally making a circuit, then put the flat blade of the screwdriver under the anode cap and rub it against the metal clip a few times. You should be able to prise the cap off without touching it, when you have done that rub the clip against the metal around the tube.

I have discharged plenty of monitors and TVs tubes in this way with no problems, but I always wear thick rubber gloves just in case. Not sure if that would help anyway though!

not sure i would ever be brave enough to rely on what they 'should' have though - best to take precautions

Agreed.

They do, but never take the chance.
Chubstas method is a cheap life-insurance...

Sûre but wearing thick Rubber gloves Just give you energy,since it's high voltage and thosesgloves aren't manufactured for that level of voltage/intensity.

Unplugg the cab for 2/3 days give you a good option to discharge too.
