Hi Guys, Just wondering is there any differences in terms of compatibility between the different Nanao MS9's? I might be able to pick up a spare one for my Egret II and they came with the MS9-29T from what I gather but will the others work with it too? Tube is Toshiba.

Hi Mono,

The Toshiba tube is what i have. I have spoken to jomac regarding this and he says the difference is basically a relay for switching between 15 and 24 res. I have confirmed the Nanao on offer is the 29T anyway so im good to go. :D

MS9-29T is the Taito chassis with auto-degauss, MS9-29A is the Astro City chassis with manual degauss; they're pretty much the same chassis. There's a third model using a Hitachi tube, the MS9-29SU (imo it stand for Sega Universal, since it was built in various Sega cabinets). The yoke specs of the Hitachi tube are slightly different than the specs from the Toshiba tube, but I think they're all kinda interchangeable.

Hi Wurstkopp, are you sure about that? What about other dedicated 29" cabs that had these chassis? Pretty sure Time crises for example had them.

Yes, if it is a 29T, then you are set, congratulations. :)

The Hitachi tube wont fit in an E2 rot mech. (though i have a set of custom built monitor arms that would make it fit.)
I also have a Hitachi yoke and it has the same values as the Toshiba one.
I have also tried A,S and N Ms9 chassis on a T tube and they all worked perfectly, with minor geo adjustments to be done of course.

Hi Mono :)

So the MS9-29SU won't fit in the Egret II?

Hi,
If it has the Hitachi tube, then no. :(

One last question :D

I've been offered a Toshiba tube with MS9-29U chassis. Will this fit an Egret 2?

I don't think so. Look for this Toshiba tube: A68KJU96X

I think some Samsung might fit, but not sure which model number.

The Hitachi tube out of a Capcom Impress will fit in the EGRET 2 and will work with the MS9 chassis . I will check the tube number later today and post it.

Fits fine. I have a burn free Hitachi tube and it fit perfectly in my E2.

I have a Toshiba A69KJU96X tube... just making double sure, will the Nanoa MS9-29SU be plug and play? This will be going in a Konami Windy cabinet.
