Odd caps - Wei Ya C3129G
I've got a little problem here finding certain caps for a neckboard of a Wei Ya trisynk. Three non-polarized caps at 1uF 350V. The ones mounted are by MIEC, electrolythic type. I'm recapping the whole lot so I'd like to replace these as well. But as it seems I'll do best just leaving them where they are.
Also there's one strangely large cap 4,7uF 75V on there. Any other cap with similar value is a small 6 or 8 mm diam. cap. But this one is the size of a AA battery. Where do the chinese get all the odd ideas from?? Just use the damned stuff available! Any idea where to shop for odd value caps, please?
Thanks

Re: Odd caps - Wei Ya C3129G
Thanks for the link, Grant. Very kind of you.
About that 4.7uF 100V cap, well I'm mostly worried about the size of the orginal cap there. It's very, very large. How come? All the 100V 4,7uF are of the smallest size. Any thoughts on that?

That would be C82, I think. The violet cap at the corner.

Thanks.
Well, I'll swap the most common caps on there and hope to keep the chinese curse away for as long as possible.
.. oh, and I've got another interesting matter I'd like to air before I forget it. I'll make another thread though, not to mix and confuse this one.

Re: Odd caps - Wei Ya C3129G
remember you can go up voltage values and also adapt capacitance values
i.e original 180uf 80v you can use 220uf 100v
not correct but it will work,it's a worse case scenario if you can't find original values

I see. Well if it's not that critical. I'm not sure exactly what these caps do. I may just remove one to see how it affects the picture.

Re: Odd caps - Wei Ya C3129G
.. then you'll know where the fireworks are coming from.
I did find this nice little cap at ELFA, http://www.elfa.se/elfa3~se_sv/elfa/ini ... 2-49&hst=1 Plastic type 1uF 400V (but only 200 VAC (??)). How about putting this little plastic in place of the old electrolytic?
I can't see any specs about its ripple current handling, nor ESR. I guess the plastic type would be better?
Or, how about just putting a polarized cap there and be done? Does it really need to be a non polarized?

Re: Odd caps - Wei Ya C3129G
the plastic type will probably work
