NANAO MS9 - R GAIN/DRIVE - Not Responding

Post by EllertMichael »

i'm in the middle of emphatic's guide to fix the colours on my E2, but I've run into a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with...

i'm on step 8:
08. Adjust the RGB GAIN/DRIVE controls on the remote board until the grid is really white without bleeding out/turning blurry
however, adjusting the R GAIN pot does nothing :-?

the G & B GAIN pots bring the grid up in their respective colours as they should.
but no joy from the R GAIN pot.

the R CUT OFF pot brought up Red, so this issue seems isolated to the remote board?

ANY help would be appreciated!

Clean the pot with electric cleaner, let dry and then reflow the solder.
Also clean the remote connector both at the chassis and at the remote.

That could fix it.

:( now red is gone completely.

i swear i had red this morning. so i turned the cab off and waited until nighttime to adjust the colours.
the only thing i did to the cab in between was screw the remote board back into place.

before i turned the cab off earlier, i was able to get a Red grid on screen by adjusting the R GAIN pot.
that was the last thing i did before i turned the cab off.
so when i turned the cab back on, the first thing i did was try adjusting the R GAIN pot again, but now it did nothing.

and now the R CUT OFF doesn't give me red. the R GAIN doesn't give me red.
however, they do seem to make the monitor a tiny bit brighter or darker when i turn the pots...

what happened??

Well, after another cleaning/reseating we're back in business!
I still can't explain why the red went out earlier
maybe this cab wants to destroy my soul?

BUT! I finally made it to the end of emph's guide and the monitor is looking :awe:
now i just hope it stays this way...

I can't understand what happened. If you had no red then you shouldn't have had white.
