MS-9 Astro chassis on Naomi MS-2932?

Post by Akuma »

Hey guys, sorry if this is common knowledge or has already been discussed but can you just switch the MS-2932 chassis with an MS-9 chassis? Is the yoke compatible?

Both use s Toshiba tube with a very similar model number (A68KJU96X02 on my spare MS-9 monitor and A68KJU96X on my spare MS-2932).

Does anyone know? Cheers!

I think that's a negative, but maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in. Yoke measurements need to match, so I read.

Hi. Put a ms9 chassis on a ms2932 tube works BUT the picture's geometry won't be correct, because of the yoke which is 31khz compliant. To have a good picture you have to change the yoke for a ms9 tube one. I did it before, some months ago. ;)

Shoot, I was hoping for an easy swap. Thank you very much for clearing this up!

A bit related so I hope Akuma does not mind but I was curious if a Nanao MS-2931 is compatible with a monitor that has a MS-2932. I read that it should work theoretically because the chassis are the similar but I could not find if someone has successfully swapped them.

Thanks!
