On the back of Grantspain posting doom messages regarding the death of CRT's, I've got the scares on now.
Can anyone help with these noobish questions:

1:Which is the best, and cheapest brand new monitor going for the Egret 2?

2: If I just have a monitor unused sitting around in storage until the current E2 one packs up, it won't die over the years its not being used will it?

3: I still don't know what the 'chassis' for a monitor is or does. Do I have to buy one with a every new monitor I purchase?

4: What's the general lifespan on these monitors? My folks had an old CRT TV that lasted for 30 years. My E2 is played normally for about 30 minutes per day and off the rest of the time. What kind of lifespan are we looking at for these things?

5: Finally, how hard is it to change a monitor. I heard the suction cup on the back will kill me.

Cheers matey!

Thanks for the info Kern, that's pretty helpful. I got my E2 on the final cab order before KC went under, not sure on the monitor make, but I think it's meant to be pretty new.

I wonder what'll happen when I can't replace the monitor anymore... Ah well, I suppose some of those old woodies have been going for yonks, so its got some life in it for sure.

Cheers mate! ;)
