Toshiba PF DS29C051 in a Windy 2.

Post by geldra »

Hello,

I have a Windy 2 with a dead monitor (grantspain has already tried his best to fix) and I’m looking to source a replacement.

I’d obvs prefer to get a stock Windy 2 monitor but sourcing one is proving difficult. I notice that Videotronics have Toshiba PFs in stock so was wondering if there’d be any problems dropping one into a Windy 2. Would it be as simple as just connecting it up and away I go?

****. So my only real option would be to hope a tube from a Nanao MS2934-S comes up?

The monitor should fit (as will pretty much all 29" arcade CRT) but as cools stated the tube will not match the curvature of the bezel leaving ~1/2" gap in the middle.

You may have to mount the tube on the back of the mounting handles too. In short, you could get it to work but it would unsatisfactory, especially with a £400+ monitor.
