Apart from the pads the NGCD's a turkey. I couldn't recommend it either. If it's sanely priced NeoGeo stuff you're after definitely go for MVS. It's by far the best option I reckon.

The AES is pretty cool to own console-wise but the cost of the best games have been pushed into the stratosphere by screwball collectors and suchlike. When I had one I only had a very small library of mostly crap games including the usual suspects like 3 Count Bout & Ghost Pilots :palm:

Lol I knew the Neo CD was bad but I didn't realise it was that bad.

Will look into a consolized MVS me thinks.

Supergun idea would be nice but I doubt I'd make the use of it properly & with my daughter getting bigger I think trailing boards & cables would be a recipe for disaster so anything to minimise the problems & keep as neat as possible would be my best bet.

So any links on places to look one up or rough ideas on a price for one?

The Neo CD is fine ... if you enjoy looking at loading screens more than playing games.

Haha! You should stop yourself though :awe:

A while back I thought 'ahh, it can't be that bad' and bought an unboxed one from Play-Asia for about £120+ shipped or summink :palm:

Set up, turn on... instant regret :( It was even far more plasticky than I thought it'd be :(

Do it, there is nothing more sexy than a frontloading Neo Geo CD :awe:
And you can play gorgeous exclusives like Neo geo Special, ADK World, Quest of Jongmaster and so on :P

No joking, it's really a nice thing to have. Actually I enjoyed Crossed Swords II and Brikinger a lot. And I love the arrange OSTs on the NGCDs. They sound a lot better than the AES/MVS versions.
Imo it's a great system for the older SNK games (no or only a few load sequences) or for the few exclusives.

I take it fighting games have the most frequent loading breaks. Would it be so bad if you got one and just ruled those out?

I know a Neogeo without fighting games is like a Thai bride without BJs, but still, there are perks.

Of the games I had Aero Fighters 2 was bearable but it was Aero Fighters 2 so not really worth playing more than once :(

It was a while ago and I'm struggling to remember what games I actually had for it. I only had a handful but hardly used it before I shifted it on. I definitely had Fatal Fury Special, KoF 94 or maybe 97, Last Blade and a couple of Sam Shos, all of which had really disruptive loading times from what I remember.

That Steve666b guy in Japan on eBay used to have a load for sale with spine cards and everything :hinthint:

Yes, unless you are a collector I'd probably give it a miss, there's much better ways to play Neo games on a sensible budget (MVS/consolised MVS).

Larger /newer games take too long to load and imo ultimately spoiled the experience for me. Loading times weren't so bad for some of the older/smaller titles that I had but the juggling monkey quickly becomes tiresome :problem: in reality it probably feels longer than it actually is :whoopsie:

I'm tempted to get one just to find out more about this juggling monkey.

Not really anything more to it than a little animation of a monkey juggling a few balls. Not all games have the juggling monkey but I think most do or at least the majority of the ones I had did.

One big plus for the Neo CD is the pad, I think it's lovely as far as pads go probably my second favourite after the snes pad.

I own all 3 systems :) I use my NGCD mostly for non fighting games or to listen to the soundtracks (most of the ngcds have the ost on the CD).
AES is more or less just for collectiong reasons and MVS to play the games, especially the more expensive ones.

I'm having a purge of my games collection, I don't own a NTSC-J Playstation 2 and although these games look fantastic I don't need them in my collection.

I've owned them since they were first released and they have just sat on my shelf!

All games are brand new and sealed in mint condition.

I have no idea on the value so was hoping to get some ideas before putting them up for sale in the market place.

I've a couple of invoice payments heading my way, which I should put into a savings account. But I don't have a savings account, so....

If I ever find one, how much should I pay for an Air Assault (Irem) PCB?

Thanks.

EDIT: Or I'll take Fire Barrel, as it's the same game.

not 100% on these as prices vary a lot, but;

Sega Ages 2500 - Monster World = £25 to £35
OutRun 2 SP = £60 to £80
Sega Rally 2006 = £30
Castlevania = £10 to £15
