Jammacon + new adapters

Post by TheLastBandit »

Another batch of Jammacons available and I've added a few new adapter types as well.

Image

The Jammacon + 1 adapter is €120 (most expensive adapter included in this price if multiple adapters bought)

Available adapters and prices are:
Sega Saturn - €35
Sony Playstation 1/2 - €35
SNES (also supports NES) - €30
Sega Megadrive (independent 3 and 6 button modes) - €35
Sega Megadrive (3 button only) - €25
PC-Engine - €30
Sony Playstation 3 - €30
Original XBOX - €35
Gamecube & N64 - €35
CPS1/CPS2 kickharness hookup - €10

All adapters supplied with cables except the PS3, this uses regular USB cables.

I've also made up a carrier board so these new adapters can be used with the older Jammacon boards, its not pretty but it works. These are available for €10 if needed.

Just wondering, I have the old version. What's the difference with this one?

The original V1 boards use a different adapter connector and limited to 6 buttons per player., the V2 boards also support up to 8 buttons per player so makes button mapping a bit easier. (The version number is on the back of the pcb).

No other differences, the audio/video is identical.

The controller cables aren't pictured :) Each of the adapters is supplied with the relevant cables that connect to the console.

Ok thank you. It really looks good. And the kick harness is to use the buttons 4,5,6 of the cabinet right ?

Yes, buttons 1,2,3,4 are connected via the Jamma edge connector and buttons 4,5,6 connect to the terminal blocks on the Jammacon board. The kick harness connector is not necessary, it just makes it easier to hook up the extra buttons.

I'd guess switch between analog stick and dpad for input.

Ahh yeah, some games only work with the analog stick, that makes sense.

Almost correct :)

When set to 'A' the controller is an analog type and the arcade joystick can be mapped to either the analog left stick, right stick or the D-pad at any time.
Set to 'D' it becomes a digital stick so joystick mapped to D-pad - a lot of PS1 games only work with controllers in digital mode.

If you ever notice the red led on a Dualshock controller automatically light up as a game loads, that's the controller being configured to run in analog mode. If the led stays off then its set to digital mode.

Great to see them getting some use in the wild :)

How are you finding the button mappings for the Gamecube ? I've tried to cover all the common options but the use of the C-stick in some games makes it tough !!

I not used that particular converter, but I have tested the other converters before with mixed results. The ones I tried need you to connect a wired Xbox controller as well to handle the MS encryption, after a bit of messing it did work but no control over the button mappings.

Just want to share how thrilled I am with finally purchasing 2 jammacon setups from TheLastBandit recently.
Excellent seller, excellent product. I'm having too much playing childhood favorites in my cabs.

I'm down to the last couple of these boards left (6 I think) and that's it I'm afraid. I won't be making anymore due to home life, kids & work chewing up all my spare time :(
