**** pony mk3 25

Post by markedkiller78 » June 6th, 2019, 5:01 pm

So, I’ve just necked my pony mk3. I was lazy and didn’t remove the neck board.

I really can’t face searching for a monitor. The cab needs a repaint but other than that and the **** necked tube, it’s complete.

One of the pots on the MS8 snapped off, but that’s pretty moot.

I paid over £2k + shipping. I’m asking £1600 which I appreciate is a lot for a cab that needs painted and a replacement unicorn turd monitor.

CP is in very good condition.

59cm TV tubes with a B10-277 neck are common. Just swap the yoke.

Ouch.... that's gutting , did it catch on the cab as you were lifting it out ?

Try and replace it with amother cheaper monitor.

Shame to get rid

I didn’t remove the neck board, it snagged on something as I was attempting to put the bottom back in. I honestly can’t bring myself to look at it right now.

The PM3 is really tight, but that was idiocy on my part.

From looking at my own pictures, it got caught on the chassis heatsink. All I had to do was stop the neck board off and it would have been fine.

I don't know about that. I necked one tube thirteen years (?) ago. I remember I made a post about it on Killer Cabs asking if it's **** To this day I take extra special care not to make that mistake again.

I can’t see me necking anything else this month, I’m now too scared to touch anything

I’m now looking for a 25” monitor / tube if anyone knows of one looking for a new home

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 25” Toshiba tube for sale, but if a hantrex drops straight in, I can look for one for the year 10 years

I managed to find two 25" Toshiba tubes on yahoo (in 3 years). I got Ronnie to import them. They weren't cheap though.

One of them was tube only, no chassis and untested, but burn free. That cost €800 to my door. That was a big risk though, but I needed it for my Canary restoration, which had a badly burnt tube. This was paired with an MS9 chassis by Grant and probably the nicest picture I've seen on a 15khz tube.

The second was essentially a NOS one in metal case with an MS8 chassis and optional 21pin RGB scart connector at the back. That ended up costing €1600 delivered. Currently a backup for the Canary.

If you can get a hantrex to drop in, I'd go with that option. I would have probably gone down this route too, but my Canary has the rotate mech, which may not like a hantrex tube.

These are NOS too! Would they fit?
If I didn't have a spare already I'd be all over one of those. I think the bezel will fit properly with them too.

No idea why that didn’t come up in my search. I thought that was the jackpot, but it’s EGA/24k only

No, they are 26" (25" viewable). They would fit an Aero City.
