Services at those prices are usually restricted to 25kg and/or 4-5 cubic feet.

Could be a bug in the booking system I guess, parcel2go doesn't even give the option, definitely restricted to the above with CityLink on there.

Yep Martin is still alive and kicking. He's done 3 cab picks ups/deliveries for me this past few months. Top bloke, very flexible and can be as silent as a ninja when needed. We managed to move two cabs on and off his van at midnight on my silent street...and he managed it without waking a soul.

Top guy, top service.

Hello again :awe:

Can anyone give me a timescale of how long Martin takes to return calls?? I have left a couple of messages this week and no response yet, I have also put an ad on shiply and had no response, West Wales is clearly not adesirable delivery destination :awe:

I would not normally worry but i need to get something sorted sooner rather than later.

Cheers

Can anyone recommend a company to ship sea freight, UK > Brazil?

All the quotes I've had so far are insane, I mean really insane.

for a cab ?

unless your getting a billion $ for it , skip it , its not worth the hassle.

I know my work place uses db schenker in ireland to send freight to brazil, they have offices all over the uk so might be worth a shot , no idea on rates but if we use them they must be cheapish !

@Jan - $1 billion is just the shipping cost :?

@geotrig - thanks, I'll have a look. I'm not optimistic though. I think the buyer might need to look elsewhere.

its not only the shipping itself , chances are high that you will have to put it into a wodden box if you want insurance and you will also have to check the import regulations in brazil.

I've had bad experiences with shipping into the country from overseas for equipment/machinery etc. Apart from being bloody expensive it tends to be a whole bunch of hassle

Beware of hidden charges unless the shipping company etc have been transparent and included everything within their quote - As well as the costs quoted for the shipping itself there'll likely be dock charges for storage and decanting too. I expect the buyer would be liable for these costs though and I'm not sure how this would work in Brazil?

Worst one I had was an CAN$80k machine we shipped from Canada, it sat for a week at Grangemouth before there was any movement on it as there was a backlog and they couldn't decant the container shortly after it landed - we bore the brunt of the storage costs as well as decanting, then VAT etc on top of that - it all soon mounted up to around £18k on top of the shipping!

The dockyard's unlikely to release anything until payment's taken care of.

I understand that there's a difference between a cab & heavy machinery but I wouldn't choose to go through the entire process if I could at all help it!

Hey guys - Mark, Jan. :)

Well, I'm the one in Brazil causing the hassle and all. Not intended, of course. I really hope we can work things out, it's just not possible to buy candy cabs here in Brazil, there's none, simple like that. :(

Please, don't give up on me! As soon as we find a way, next time will be much easier! :D

I contacted DB Schenkerl, let's see what they say.

have you considered to get a container load, like 10-12 Cabs from HK ? this will definitly the the easiest and cheapest way.
