Jamma audio through naomi amp?

Hey, I know you can connect the jamma sound direct to the speakers on on a naomi cab (when the cab is jamma wired), but was just wondering, would it still work if the jamma sound was routed to the naomi amp, and from the amp to the speakers? Reason I ask is because I really want to keep the amp in the cab for use with consoles.

You'll need to run it through a line level audio converter first, otherwise it'll likely blow the amp.

They are cheap as chips on eBay.

Yep, that'll do the trick.

I've read people banging on about them degrading sound quality, but can't say it's been noticeable on the one I have in my Supergun. We are dealing with cab speakers of course, so even the best inputs will only sound so good.

So he can run the sound through the telly which has it's own built in amplifier. If he didn't cut it down to line level he'd have a broken telly and an angry girlfirend.

Does the loom have a resistor on the audio-wire to provide attenuation perchance?

Ive built close to 100 consolised systems/ superguns in the last 18 months, never had an issue with someone coming back and saying their TV was damaged.

This has put it into perspective though- the monitor and amp are essentially a TV set, so running Jamma sound directly into it wont be a problem.

I'll happily eat humble pie if Im wrong, but theres nore to say it will be fine rather than have a problem for me.

Let's say a speaker is max 10w output. And you have a seven watt amplified signal coming from a board. And you then amplify that amplified signal further using a ten watt amplifier - what do you suspect the outcome will be?

The only people I know who ever put a speaker in their supergun were Raven Games, and even they stopped after a while (not sure about japanese superguns though).

To be honest, if I had put my **** in a tigers mouth a hundred times, and it was still in tact, I'd propbably feel pretty re-assured by now. Also, Ive been using superguns since 1993 with no attenuation, and all have been fine.

Like I said, if Im wrong, i'll eat humble pie, but after 17 years and countless machines, I think statiscally the chances are looking quite good for me.

Besides, Im already **** that the bowling monitor doesnt like my naomi tansformer, so I have to use the iso that came with it, and I dont want any more crap in there than is needed.

Maybe the tiger had to open its mouth so wide to accomodate, it dislocated its jaws and couldnt exert any pressure

Think I might leave out the amp on these 2 particular cabs though. Seems silly to use them if not needed, looks like theyre on the way to the selling forum.
