New Astro City, vertical. Only counterclockwise?

Post by kernelchagi »

Hello. I discovered today that it seems that the only way my new astro is able to turn vertical the monitor is counterclockwise. I guess no, but is there any way to turn it in the other direction? It is such a pity that i cannot play dimahoo and 19XX with the MiSTer.

It can rotate either way, you simply take it off and turn it and put it back on, what's making you think it only goes one way?

At least in my case, there is a metal structure in my nanao that is not simetric and that hits the back of the cabinet case when i try to turn it clockwise, in a way that im not allowed to fit it inside of the 4 bolts. I have the original nanao ms9 monitor btw.

Yeah the frames only turn one way in an Astro. Some PCB's have a screen flip option on the dip switches. Other than that a yoke flip is your best option as taking the monitor out of the frame and turning it might be a pain with the AMP U/P connector on the frame.

If you are playing it with a MiSTer, and not an original PCB, Isnt there a way to flip it in the software?

In the cases that the PCB had a dip switch there is an option in the mister to flip the screen, but in the ones that didtn have that switch, it doesnt. And it seems that it is not technically possible to do it.

Going to try that, but if im not mistaken, that will "reverse" the picture right? So it will be like looking it from a mirror.

Dimahoo and 19XX rotate the usual way don't they? Have you checked the settings in the test menu?
It's only really an issue with very old games.

Dang, I never actually noticed that I guess. I saw they couldn't play games I run just fine on my NAC and assumed they just had it backwards. Forgot about the screen flip option. :D

Yup, namco games rotate opposite of all.
Namco cabs always need to yoke flip with any non namco game if it doesn't have its own sw flip.
