CP mounting plate
I wonder if the "S" type base plate have standard measures on every CP and if it's possible to desolder it? The base plate present on that 3D CP does have four treaded holes.
I'd like to solder a base plate on the raw CP that I built but sanwa/seimitsu dont sell any threaded ones. How others CPs plates looks like ?
Thanks !

Re: does that part standard to every cp ?
Those mounting plates are different depending on what joystick(s) are intended to be mounted to it, and which manufacturer the control panel is from.
The panels that I manufacture have mount plates for Sanwa JLF sticks that look like this:

Are both holes of those mounting plates threaded or do you use nuts? Do you use a specific tool to desolder them if needed to be replaced ?

Re: CP mount plate
The are not soldered, they are spot welded.
The only way off is grinding, or destroying the panel.

Re: CP mounting plate
The holes on mine are just drilled, so you need to use a nut on the back side like on some of the licensed Sega panels. The original Sega ones are swaged before being threaded to give more material thickness for the threads, but I'm not setup to do that properly.
As above they are spot welded on, not soldered, but maybe that's just an incorrect translation ?
You can drill out spot welded welds if you are careful, but our machine has big contact tips giving a bigger weld meaning they would be harder to drill out without wrecking either the panel or the mount

Re: does that part standard to every cp ?
I have exactly this kind of mount in my panel. It originally had a jlw mounted but I switched to a ls-56. The only option to mount was the vf plate. It fits, but because of the distance to the panel, the stick is pretty short on the top.
I don't see how a jlf fits on these.

Re: CP mounting plate
So they're supposed to be mounted without a plate?

Re: CP mounting plate
It depends on how the panel has been designed. You can buy the JLF with no plate, flat plate, or cranked plate

Re: CP mounting plate
I know. But with the mounting system that you use, there is no stick that would fit flush with the cp.?

Re: CP mounting plate
It isn't meant to. I copied my design straight from a genuine Sega HOT2005 panel. Without the 6mm offset from the panel the stick would be too longEndprodukt wrote: ↑June 20th, 2019, 7:21 pm I know. But with the mounting system that you use, there is no stick that would fit flush with the cp.?

Re: CP mounting plate
Right now the sticks shaft (control panel top to ball bottom) is roundabout 23mm. Does that sound correct? On my Naomi they sit flush.DaveyD wrote: ↑June 20th, 2019, 8:12 pmIt isn't meant to.
