Help me out guys, i have to do some repainting and like to see if I got this right.
Clean -> sandpaper (800?) -> primer -> paint
Or another sandpapering between prime and paint ?
Is clear coat necessary?
Thx so much

Re: Repainting of Cabs/ parts help
Is the area you want to paint currently damaged/chipped/rust underneath?
If it is smooth, and good condition then I would use a scotch-brite pad just for keying the area prior to painting it

Sandpapering with a fine grain after priming will make for better results.

you may need to use one or 2 other grades to smooth out after the 800 ,The aim is to level out any chippings so the transition is even and smooth as possible otherwise any imperfection will show ,if that makes sense.
This guy has some good tips for preparing surfaces for painting , cant remember which vids i watched before but he does some with rattle cans .https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdCViy ... s8wtFx3_1g
clear coat is not necessary but a light dusting might help protect ,only thing with clear coat is it might need addtional work after to bring up the colour .
<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"
