Sega Aero City Cabinet locks

Post by davewellington »

Hey
Picked up an Aero City cabinet a while ago and it didn't come with any locks. Yaton recently put Aero City 5380 locks up on eBay, so I jumped on them and purchased a couple of keys online. Now they're arrived, i'm having issues.
The main issue is with the main door and coin mech door - the lock isn't orientated correctly due to the shape of the barrel and the cut in the door, which means the flat piece of metal at the back isn't going straight up when the door is in locked position. I took the lock apart but couldn't see any way to fix the issue. Think I need to replace the flat piece of metal, but figured best to post first incase i've overlooked something.

I probably have a tang here that would work, can you post a pic of it.

I think it's just the cut in the tang that needs to be differently oriented.

Are you sure that will fit a Sega lock? Just by eyeballing it, I would say the hole needs to be larger. Could be wrong though!

No idea, I thought they were a standard size. These will fit Taito, Jaleco and Konami barrel locks.

Thanks for the offer Yosai, will make some measurements tonight. The bronze coloured tangs(?) are for the control panel, and unfortunately are the wrong size as well :/

What position does it go to when you lock it ? I'll have a look at mine tonight and see what positioning they are in ..

That's the locked position there. You have an Aero City? Besides this, keen to get some photos of the control panel tongs, so I can put together a wanted post :)

If you need any more pics, let me know what you need pics of. Mine came with all original locks but no keys, had to track those down.

Can you please photo the inside of your main door lock, and the tongs(?) inside you control panel, that are used to hold the control panel down? That'd be excellent.

May be worth noting that the locks come in different lengths hence some of the tangs have bends in them.
