[Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
Hello people.
I just want to produce Capcom Mini Cute myself.
I started to draw the cabinet. I collect every picture that I can on the internet. But I do not have detailed dimensions.
If someone has this cabinet and have enough time to get detailed dimensions and share with me, I will be happy
Please check the drawings.
I want to make it as original. It will be iron metal 1.2mm
I will use 50CM CRT TV tube ( I can't find 18" arcade monitor in Turkey )
Joysticks and buttons Seimitsu
Thanks...

Thanks for your interest.bloodhokuto wrote:What other measurements do you need?
I Just finished the 3d Draw. But it is not the original measurements. I think it is %85 Same as original.
But after the first cabinet I will need the real measurements. If will you have time , I can send you some pictures that I mark it with Red signs. You can take the measurements and share with me.
Thanks...

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
Have you thought about making a "Capcom Cute"? As in, not as mini as the original to have the same aesthetics but with added comfort.

What are your plans regarding manufacture? Are you a fabricator?

Are you the size of a six year old?Hursit wrote:Yes maybe you are right. But I think it is ok for meJan wrote:problem with the Cute is, while it is cute, it is horrible to play on, unless you are a child
Seriously though, unless you plan to sell repro cutes to collectors you're better off building it a size that's usable.
Schematics look excellent btw.

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
I did wonder, as it is VERY easy to put something together in Solidworks that looks nice on the outside, but there are a lot of design considerations you need to take when it comes to the fabrication of said item. Especially sheet metal where you don't want to be doing too much welding. Really you want to be spot welding it together, this means you will need to allow in your designs extra material for folds and joggles so adjoining panels mount together neatly, and stronglyHursit wrote:NO my friend I'm not.DaveyD wrote:What are your plans regarding manufacture? If you are going to hand over the design to a fabrication company to make it, it won't be cheap as a one off item, and they won't just want a nice looking 3D image, they will expect fabrication drawings of each panel broken down and how it is assembled

The producing is not easy as 3D design. You have to know how is possible to bond all the sheets together. Sometimes 3D draw is not to possible to produce it.DaveyD wrote:I did wonder, as it is VERY easy to put something together in Solidworks that looks nice on the outside, but there are a lot of design considerations you need to take when it comes to the fabrication of said item. But don't worry my friend. I have too many skills including welding. I just made too many metal works before. I had some equipments in my workshop.
First i have friends who has Lazer CNC. They will cut it. After that there is Bend (fold) machine. At last I will make it together. I will try to make cheaper as I can.

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
I had the same idea, and people here told me exactly the same. I remember being just like OP, 'oh it's ok, the small size won't bother me'... But that was before I actually had an original Capcom Mini Cute here, it really is made for children, or maybe an adult with a one player layout. Two adult players it's imposible, believe me. I don't care if you are Peter La Anguila, it's extremely uncomfortable.

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
Pal, you seems to be pretty skilly. Why don't try to make a replica of a lost cab instead ? The Domy HV could be a very good candidate. I think the people would be quite excited to see a "real" one and since nobody never see it, it's ok to make some arrangements as no one can tell you it's not an exact replica.

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
The Domy HV canopy would be a ruddy hard bit of perspex to shape / mould, but wouldn't it be cool? Surely there are some Domy cabs left in Asia, somewhere?CitrikElektrik wrote:Pal, you seems to be pretty skilly. Why don't try to make a replica of a lost cab instead ? There are photos of rooms of them in the archives I'm sure.

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production
I agree with the chaps here, the Capcom Mini Cute must be the most pointless arcade cab ever, its serves great as a compact test bench for arcade pcbs tough...
If I were to reproduce a metal arcade cabinet, I'd go with the Capcom New Concept 2, I used to play on those back in the day, mono/stereo switch, headphone jacks, 1, 2 and 3 player panels.....and rotate mech
