Hi all,
I picked up a Vewlix F recently with no TypeX motherboard or anything and am trying to hook a console up to it.
Both my DC and X360 are connected to the line in via male to mail headphone jack cables and the sound is super quiet. If I turn up the speakers, I hear a lot of buzz and very little sound from the games.
I also tried an MP3 player and while the buzz was gone, I have to crank the volume on the MP3 player up very loud. Speaker sounded great once I did this.
Do I need an amp to run sound from a console into the line in on the Vewlix?
Thanks all, I did a search, didn't find an answer.

Re: Vewlix F sound questions
I think there's something wrong with the amp. X2 puts out regular line level audio as well.

Re: Vewlix F sound questions
Looks like this isn't an amp according to this thread.

I'll wire it up another way.

Re: Vewlix F sound questions
Check pg 92 of the manual here:

The part you’re after is K91X1096A AMP PCB ASSY.
I had a similar problem with a Vewlix C which had a flaky amp. I bought a replacement from TaitoTech and it solved the audio issues. They should hold them in stock. I can’t remember how much I paid but it was in the region of £100 a few years ago.
I have a working spare which I could send you for troubleshooting, but the cost of postage both ways would be high so you’d probably be as well just buying a replacement from Taito.
