100 and 120v

Post by zumbito »

I just purchased I transformer for my Cute, and realized it doesn´t output 100v but 120v. I have read both that it may cause problems and that there is no problem. Should I be worried about it? I guess the PSU must have some tolerance but more worried about the monitor. 120V is a 20% voltage increase...

I had a Maplins step down transformer -so it was 120V. However, my home voltage was realy high resulting in >120V going into my Cute.

My PSU in the Cute eventualy blew, although that may have just been old age.

Lots of people use the common 120V units, with no complaints, but I ended up getting a beefier 100V one for all my cabs to be safe.

If believe there's a accepted tolerance, but I guess old caps and other components might be more sensitive.
Get a 100V for piece of mind.
