Nvs - 4000 in a NAC

Post by Hrvat9 »

I just got my nvs-4000 in the mail and I’m wondering before I tackle this, is there anything I’ll need to make it work? Is it plug and play ?

Congrats on the purchase :)

You need a specific set of wiring if you have the standard low PSU in your cab.

It came with The top left ac in and out wires but that’s it. I unplugged them and plugged in the wires from my other psu into those slots and the third cable into the dc out 1 and confirmed everything works :) for some reason, either I was tired or something but the picture looked a hell of a lot better with the bigger psu. Now I need the audio cables which I can’t seem to find anywhere but neo legend, but it says they’re unavailable.

These audio cables are easy to make. I found an old 3.5mm jack to phono cable, and chopped off the 3.5mm jack. I then just crimped on 4 connectors, and fit them into the Amp-Up plug

Everything works including the demag button? For me it didn't with the standard wiring. But I think there are different sets of wiring depending on which PSU your NAC comes with, so it could be different for you.

I actually totally forgot to test the service/test/demag buttons -_- lol. I’ll try them out today. One thing I did notice is that the switch on the power supply did nothing :/. The switch on the back of the NAC controlled everything

Here is the exact harness for that PSU: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Naomi-Har ... SwPYZU-v1q

It has all of the audion cable break outs and wiring to power a Naomi.

Once you wire it all up properly, the power switch will come into play 8-)

Buy one of these cables, and cut it in half (you can make 2x cables then keeping 1 as spare): http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/rca-phono ... s/7424579/

4 pin connector here: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/cp/7100028, ... ?sra=p&r=t

Pins for the connector: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-conne ... s/6831336/

you just need a crimping tool then if you dont have one already?

This guide tells you the part number for each size AMP-UP connector: https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/AMP_Universal_Power

Hate to bump this thread, but I'm also in the same boat- I've got an NVS on the way but I have the 400-5261 in mine currently. It looks like it should be plug an play except for the monitor.

I ended up using mine in my versus city since the psu blows he fuse. plug and play. Never ended up putting it into the NAC because I put my naomi into the versus
