Joystick for Sanwa panel

I have a 1l6b control panel which I would like to use as my SHMUP panel so would like a joystick more suited to this type of game.

I have been reading a few threads on here and other sites but I'm still unsure which sticks will fit and if a plate is required which specific one is needed as there seem to be a few different types. It's the OOM-8-6BSRT-H panel shown here (from another thread on AO)


What are my options please and which sticks would you recommend? LS-56 seems to be a favourite for SMHUPS. http://arcadejapan.co.uk/arcade-sticks/ ... 6-01-Stick - that would require an 'MS' plate to fit?

Based on the arcadejapan pics, I think you want the SS-P40 - The MS is flat, so the shaft will sit lower, whereas the SS-P40 looks like it should mate with the panel bracket.

For Shmups the LS-56 is good. Even better with a stronger spring. And you definately should buy an octa gate.

Which spring would you recommend and is it possible to just buy the spring in the UK? I'll be buying the octa gate add on for it too. Thanks

Sorry I told BS. The sticks I use are LS-58 with LS-56 spring! Yes, no problrm to buy just a spring. Bought mine in the UK, but don't remember were.
