Astro city vs New Astro city for mame cab?

In my area only Astro City has been available lately. Is that cabinet inferior to the New Astro City? Is the monitor etc just as good or no? Mainly I am interested in the monitor and ability to work with a 15khz mame Pc via jpac.

It'll work 15Khz with JPAC for sure.

The 'new' astro city is of course just an 'updated' Astro City. Some info here:

Just check which monitor is fitted (Usually they are Nanao MS9). The 'new' has updated speakers, but some would say the mounts screw up the design a little.

A regular Astro can come with MS8. A MS9 is nicer yes.

The MS8 is just as great as the ms9. I think the only real difference is that the MS8 has more adjustments on the adjustment board.

Some Astro's came with MS9's as well. I wouldn't be concerned about if it's an 8 or 9, both are very good monitors. The NAC has better sound but doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing (in my opinion).

I have both styles, and the difference is negligible outside of the details, and since you're buying used and not new condition of the game in question is way more important than some minor changes. For your purposes it honestly won't make any difference.

Yeah as everyone has said. Sorry if my original post confused things.. what I meant was that the -design- of the 'New' Astro City featured upgraded speakers, not the monitor itself (reading back I can see you may have thought that's what I was saying).
As others have said, some find the original Astro preferable in design to the 'New'.

Now, can you ship one to the UK for me?
