As of this week I'm the proud owner of a very nice condition Namco Cyberlead
The cab is equipped with the original Namco JVS/Jamma adapter board and I'm having some issues with it...
When a JVS pcb is hooked up, all buttons and controls work.
When the adapter and a Jamma board is hooked up, button 2 of player 2 does not work. But all other buttons/controls do!
I checked all wiring and all looks good (otherwise JVS pcb wouldn't work as well), I also check the wiring on the Jamma side, and there is continuity from the Jamma connector to the adapter pcb.
Only logical explantion I would have is the adapter being defective...
As a temp fix I wired P2 button 2 directly to the Jamma connector, this works, but is not the way I intend to use it permanently...

Re: Button not working with Namco JVS/Jamma adapter
It's always worth checking for broken traces on the PCB itself. Follow it backwards from the JAMMA end. Measure continuity every step on the way as far as you can trace it. I've managed to fix PCBs this way with very little technical knowledge.

Directly behind the connector is an IC.
Up to that point there is continuity, so I can confirm the first 2cm of the pcb works
Unfortunately not possible for me to measure beyond that IC...

Re: Button not working with Namco JVS/Jamma adapter
By any chance, can you check if the two green wires on the underside of the Namco JVS/Jamma adapter are still attached?
This was a last-minute factory mod by Namco afaik. Don't know exacty what they are supposed to do, but they are the most fragile bit on the pcb, so maybe worth checking out.

Re: Button not working with Namco JVS/Jamma adapter
Just checked the two wires on the bottom, both connected
Also I checked where they go and they are for audio L and R.
