NNC coin door key.

Post by Mantrox »

Im looking to get some AO tokens so i can coin up on my new net city.
The problem is, i have a sega key and sega locks on the cab, but the coin door lock seems to be the same type, but its a bit bigger.
The key fits fine but i can't seem to open it.

Whats the best way to remove/open these locks?

You're probably going to have to drill it out. The chances of finding the correct key without being able to see the number is going to be very remote.

It's not just stiff/stuck is it? My nnc's have the same locks on the coin doors as everywhere else...

If not then probably drill the centre of the lock to release the tang on the back.

Can you check if the face of the lock is a bit bigger than the other locks on your NNC?
Because it just seems to be a slightly bigger version of the other locks.

Nevermind mate, i drilled it since i had a spare lock.

But! After opening it there was the bucket and a new pair of sega keys with a lock! Yay!

Added a shot of the coin counter just for the heck.

The lock is the same size, it just has a metal ring around it. I can put it on the sega lock, and its done.

Thanks everybody for the help anyway.

Nice one! You've got about £40 of keys and lock there if they are 5575's!

Jesus! That expensive?
Never thought much about the locks to be honest.

The spare one i had (on the right) has 5575 on the side.
The one that was inside the bucket is very similar if not identical but says G11231.

Ah the ones inside are coin door locks then, not as much in demand unfortunately, but still cool!

I only just got home, and checked my locks...but I guess I didn't need to in the end!

For what it's worth mine are the same size (and lock type) as each other ;)

I'm glad you got it sorted, and what a result! :awe:

Am in a similar situation here with my Vewlix cab and the same lockset on its coin lock with a lost key.

Before going ahead with drilling, would just like to check if there's anything to look out for? First time going about this, so am just worried for any after-effect. 8-)

**disregard my above question. Was as easy as just drilling it and settled in a min or 2. :)

I'd imagine all coin doors are not using the same master key as the service and hatch doors!
