Namco Noir Cabinet compatability Taito Type X2??

Post by Maestro3h »

Hi guys!!

I need a little help... can the Namco Noir users with Taito Type X2 mobo tell me if they have problems with this configuration??

I have a Namco Blanc Cabinet with STD CONNECT PCB and NAJV2 PCB (the same pcb than inside Namco Noir), and the Cabinet/mobo shows this error:

**************JVS ERROR.
0000 LIBRARY ERROR**************

I have asked for this problem, and here's the reply:

Dear Raul,

Our technician said the NAJV2 is not compatible with Taito Type X2 PCB.

Best Regards,
Jeremy Choi

**NAJV2 PCB is the JVS PBC for Namco Cabinets.

A lot of thanks for your time!!

Mine Namco Blanc cabinet has all the wires connected and working, tested today with naomi 2 mobo and Namco System 369 few days ago. :awe:

Thanks for your time.

Could be specific to the Revision of the I/O board... could also be an issue with the Model of the TX2 board. JVS I/Os typically have all sorts of weird compatibility issues.

If it's possible to reach out to the French Arcade to confirm the I/O board and Revision in the cab, and the Model # of the TX2 (printed on the white sticker), that would be the easiest way to narrow down the problem.

hi guys!

Kazuya, a lot of thanks for these very nice pics!! :D

Kazuo, as you can see in my pics, the JVS PCB is the same JVS version (NAJV2) than Jan... and he can play with TTX2 without problems or errors.

Mi PCB:

An my TTX2 mobo Specs:

Maybe some DIPS configuration on the mobo or the NAJV2 PCB??

It's a weird thing but interesting!!!!

More info PLEASE and more user with that configuration!! Namco Noir/Blanc with Taito Type X2 mobo.

i have tried several things now, for example excluding the vs board and going into the i/o directly and also playing arround with the Dips on the i/o but no luck so far

also great of Namco not to mention the function on the i/o Dips in the Manual :palm:

pretty sure the vs pcb is causing the Problem.

@Maestro3h

have you tried to connect the usb from the TX2 directly to the i/o ( the one behind the Screen) ?

if not , please do so, maybe this will fix your Problem atleast.

if you guys wanna see something funny, load KoF XII and throw in a coin ( or pull the coin mech with you Hands). :lolno:

when you get coin error, unplug the usb cable on your vs pcb ( might also work on the TX2), it will give you a jvs error then tell you it is rebooting, while rebooting plug it back in. :palm:

sadly not workiing on KoF XIII

this here might be the Problem by the way. Not finding coin counter 2. so if you would actually use the vs pcb with two noirs it might work.

i have tested the Dips on the i/o but they seem to do nothing :problem:

if i have some time tomorrow, i will link the Noir with the Vewlix, not a real soulution, but maybe this will answer some questions.
