Type of monitor in Japanese spec'd Egret 3

Post by Eddierang »

I'm curious to know what kind of monitor is in an Egret 3 because I was debating to see if it is worth converting an Egret 2 to an Egret 3. Coinopexpress charges way too much for their Egret 3

It depends on the date of manufacture. The original run on E3’s were meant to have Toshiba or Nanao FST tri-sync monitors (I’m not sure about which).

The later ones have Samsung FST Tubes & Wei-ya chassis. They are identical to the Atomiswave SD cabs.

The Egret 2 & 3 are different internally. The egret 2 has an easy rotate mechanism

You're right. I own an E3 myself and it's a great looking machine but they should have made it easier to tate. Well, Actually it's risky as hell to tate an E3. I would even trade it in for an E2. :)

It’s obviously about saving money, but it’s a real shame that Taito removed the Easy Tate from the E3. I can imagine it would be handy for ops too.

If the E3 still had it, then you could justify the extra £££, but as it’s stands it’s an expensive AWSD with a different set of stickers.

So if it is not worth converting the Egret 2s to Egret 3s then I guess it would be just better getting myself some AWSDs instead. But if I were to get an Egret 3, which place would be the cheaper than coinopexpress?

So you're seriously on the lookout for an E3?

we have just canceled the cab order which included egret 3 at $1005 shipped to the show as there was a lack of interest

$1005,- shipped would have been a very good price.

That would have been awesome but it wouldn't do me any good to get one unless it was shipped to the US.
