Hello,
Just curious as I am still cutting my teeth on everything Naomi and jvs related. I understand that in order to get the Capcom fighting games to work (MvC3, SNK vs Capcom 2 etc) working that I need a capcom I/O board? Can anyone explain why this is the case as I thought the JVS standard supported up to 10-12 buttons per user?
At the moment I have an upright driver cab with the regular Sega I/O (I'm sure it's 837-13551-92) and will be changing the control panel, which has been modded to fit in place, and a complete digital harness to support the regular 2 sticks 6 button setup. I'm hoping this will be enough, but if I definitely need a Capcom IO or something similar I will pick 1 of those up as well.
any information would be much appreciated

Nope, you're fine. A regular JVS I/O will support all the buttons you want.

Ah good, so no need for any other type of IO board?
Had me slightly confused as to why, but great to read it's not necessary!

Sega JVS IO is fine for Capcom games.
the only known for me exception is Power Stone 2 - it requires Capcom IO for 4 players through JVS. but instead may be used regular Sega IO for players 1-2 and two Dreamcast controllers for players 3-4.

Great, will have my digital loom delivered tomorrow to test it all out but nice to know I won't have to fork out for yet another piece of hardware. This Naomi ownership game is getting quite expensive!

I think the confusion comes from the sega jamma io, which although it supports 6 buttons, most people don't realise and/or prefer the Capcom io for the hirose connector.
