Sega Naomi - Sound Amp - no output on red

Post by Dexa »

Hey,

i´ve just reassembled my sega naomi universal.
Everything is working great except the red output going from the amp to the speaker. I get no audio output :(

What I´ve tested so far:
1. When I switch the connections going from the amp to the speaker (from white to red) i get sound output on the red speaker.
So the speaker seems to be fine as well as the cable going from the amp to the speaker.

2. When i switch the audio jacks going from the naomi to the amp i get audio too.
So the naomi is outputting audio on both channels/cables.

To make it a bit more clear which connector i mean - this one does not seem to output anything:

Anyway to fix this or is the amp broken?

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I have the EXACT same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Like Dexa said, the speaker itself works and when I switch the connections to white, it works just fine.

have you ruled out cable issues... i.e. if sound is coming out of the white speaker (output side) connect the red output cable to the white output terminal. if that woks then the cables are fine and the speaker is fine..... Also check the input by switching around the red adn white... if problem is same then might be the amp.

If it's the amp it'll be time to get the multi meter out....
