Playing a 360 in a tri sync naomi

Post by j69 »

With both JVS and Jamma capabilities, whats the easiest way of pulling this off? Just running the 360 through vga and hacking a DOA4 stick?

None of the Hori stuff is common ground, less hassle to get Madcatz pads or those ugly retro sticks they have.

From what I've read lately only the wireless pads are common ground, the wired pads are supposedly common high for some reason. Haven't dissected any pads myself though...

Yep, that’s modders stick of choice and lets face it, smashing it open & throwing most of it in the bin it’s the only use anyone could ever have for it.

I got one of those cheap when the 1st came out. Its officially the worst joypad I have ever had. Knowing that it makes the ideal donor for a hacked stick is good to know though. MIght need to dig out out the drawer and let one of you boys have your wicked way with it to create me a custom stick ;)

same applies for me :

I have the 360 the game and an AWSD.......

I have the necessary CP connectors so a hard wired pad will do me fine ( Hopefully from the DJ )

so I need :

- Hacked pad
- 360 VGA cable
- Audio amp ( how do I power this ? can it be rigged into one of the JVS powder plugs already present in the AWSD ? )

Do I need any adapter for the VGA cable ? cant remember which is male / female etc ?

Cheers

BIG S

If you mean the amp? Then yes. It's a std Naomi item.

All you need to do is plug the phono's in.

Cool, well I think this is defo the way im going now. All be it a std Naomi rather then a tri sync. With any luck 3rd strike will be out on XBL soon anyway so no need to jammarise it. Theres always the original xbox version too

I’ve picked up another 31k only Naomi, if you don’t need jamma support, then I don’t see the point of paying the extra £££

RBG is running a 360 in his AWSD & it’ll be easier & cheaper (AWSD doesn’t have an audio amp) in a Naomi & the results will be just the same. I say go for it :awe:

I have just made my Naomi into a Dreamcast playing machine but I still have the option of using a Xbox/PS3 in there with a simple pad hack and VGA lead.
