Akihabara Shop still in business?
Hey, anyone order from akishop recently? I see the website is back up, but the latest update is from mid 2013, and haven't seen anyone order anything from there recently. Just need a few buttons and a stick for my HSS-0136 Cheers

Yeah I used them recently. Took them about a month to post my order but all good.

Re: Akihabara Shop still in business?
Fine if it's not urgent. Were they ever quick?
I was in no rush, and the price difference was crazy. my order with Akihabarashop cost £16 delivered. It would have cost nearly £50 with most other shops - their £3 per button soon mounts up.
Let me know if you know a cheap, but quick alternative? I browsed a couple of .jp shops that said they ship overseas if you email them but I didn't bother testing them out. One had a particularly large selection and was < 100yen per Seimitsu button but I can't remember what it was called now.

My experience with riverservice -
Order 14th
Invoice 16th
Paid 18th
Sent 23rd
Arrived 7th. They threw in a phone charm, and all of the emails I received were hand written which I appreciated. Overall I recommend them though the order could have gone through a little faster.
edit: wrote aki instead of rs

Been waiting over a month since order for some stuff from Aki.
Marked as processing on 4th August, but no contact since. No response to my emails.

Normal procedure. "processing" is the last update you'll see. Could turn up any day between now and another month I reckon.

Ordered 27th July. Processing 4th August. Finally, based on ParcelForce/customs charge, it seems my order arrives tomorrow, 2nd September.Devil Soundwave wrote:Been waiting over a month since order for some stuff from Aki.

Never did get a photo or tracking number from them either. Pretty ****. They could have taken 2 months if they had liked as long as they communicated, but they didn't respond to a single one of my emails asking where my stuff was, so I'll use RIverService next time I think.
Pretty sure it's my Aki stuff anyway, unless ParcelForce now also handle incoming seamail which is the only other large parcel I have on the way from Japan.

I'm pretty sure the owner of the store hired some help that doesn't know English to handle the orders while he himself's concentrating on Aki Shop Customs. Apparently, the software engineer working on the firmware has been ill, causing massive delays in the finishing of the PS360+. I do hope akibarashop could be as good as before one day though.

Yeah, I'd heard this too, but you know, filling an order from an order list and sending it to an address is pretty language universal. They're just being totally lame.

Ah. Well, the customs charge was quite high so if it's my stools I'll be very surprised but we'll see.cools wrote:PF handle sea packages.
EDIT: Nah, defo the Aki shop stuff as the waybill tracking shows it was only sent on the 13th August whereas the stools where sent about two weeks earlier.

'Twas Aki shop. Despite the slow service, very well packed. Just need to go through it now to ensure it's all there but looking good. Feel a but less annoyed now. Don't use Aki if you are in a hurry, basically. They come through in the end.

Yeah that sums them up really.
I'd like to know a good alternative that's anywhere near their prices and UK shipping costs.

Re: Akihabara Shop still in business?
Seems like they didn't change in four years.
Back in 2010, when I got my fist candy, I ordered some stuff from Akishop, hoping to get it in a timely manner - I was living in Japan at the time.
Weeks later, my order was still in process. Man, I only had Street Fighter Zero and 3 buttons on my panel... So I ordered the same stuff directly from Seimitsu and got it two days later.
After a couple of months, got my first box of spares from Akishop.
