The new lcd machine sp got uses the same power supply from wei ya you could get a new from that supplyer if you can i take one too ,or you can put a switch mode in and loop the +5v wires and the 110 only need to splice 3 wires then and you can still use the cab till you get a replacement in

i would just install a standard switch mode with 3.3v output, you may have to hack a cable but it should be a 5 minute job

Expensive? :)

That PSU has different molexes to the one on yours (IF they send you the one in the pic). Just take a step back from the screen, squint a bit and look at the dimensions.

Wei-Ya PSU's are meant to be a bit **** tbh.

I can't set the voltage on mine to exactly what I want (some MVS carts are piccy) but I did tink I had blown a fuse in the past thanks to me messing about with it.

I turned the voltage all the way down & left it for 30 mins. I think the capacitor must have discharged or something, as the PSU worked again. Might be worth a try? Turn it all the way dowm leave it a while, then try again with your multi meter?

losing the +5 only would point towards a cap failure rather than transistor/ic failure, maybe worth taking a look at the smoothing cap on +5 output

Sorry about that mate, nothing worse than having a machine out of action. It was worth a try though

ground to ground-simple
insulate the 3.3 like you said

if you are worried about it then connect a 12v halogen bulb across the +5 and ground, this will then act as a load and i bet your +12 meters o.k
