Disconnecting the Vewlix-F main fan
It´s just **** annoying, and I don´t think it is needed for home use anyway.
I don´t see a way to just disconnect it, haven´t really examined the fan though.
Has anyone here tried it? Cutting the wires would be my last resort. I guess it would take damage if I just block it?!?

Yes, sure, but I have a horrible obsession with keeping everything as original as possible.

If no connector visible then it's soldered somewhere But I'd be very surprised at that, I've not seen a fan without a connector fan in a long time.
You could cable tie it to stop it. Not recommended for long term use though.

You could regulate the van to minimum....
"Original" setting is very loud at all....and inside the cab "cold as ice"

I would certainly consider a switch or an inline resistor over just clipping the wires. Don't block the fan or just cut the wires if it is indeed soldered.

Probably a dumb question, but how do I do this?redstallone wrote:You could regulate the van to minimum....

Re: Disconnecting the Vewlix-F main fan
You need to install a resistor inline with the + lead going to the fan. In layman's terms, a resistor will decrease the voltage by a certain percentage (depending on the resistor's rating), thus making the fan run slower and quieter.
With a 12V fan, for example, you would probably be ok up to about 40%. Any higher and I don't think the fan would even spin.

Ah, alright, thanks. I´m aware of the possibilities of installing a switch or resistor, but redstallone´s posting sounded like there is a pre-installed option to reduce the fan speed.

There`s a switch installed, i`ll post a pic today ok (amp installed is just for van and LED`s, just turn the switch low).

Re: Disconnecting the Vewlix-F main fan
Is it the PSU on the bottom on the right side? Would have thought that it is also for the sound amp, so I didn´t even think of messing around with it. So I guess I could also disconnect the plug on the PSU altogether, and all I´m missing would be the LEDs on the illumination panel and the fan?

Re: Disconnecting the Vewlix-F main fan
So my observation that there is no easy way to disconnect the fan is true?

Re: Disconnecting the Vewlix-F main fan
It's very easy to disconnect the fan; there's a quick-connect that can be split.
