Vewlix panel snap-on connectors: What are they?
Been driving me nuts trying to find an answer; I've read every Vewlix-related thread on Arcade Otaku and a lot of other sites and I can't figure it out. They're certainly not AMP connectors.
I'm building a custom wiring harness for my 2P Vewlix panel but I don't want to remove the original wiring; basically I want the opposite snap-ons for the panel to plug in to.
Thanks in advance!

These look like the right connectors, thanks! I guess the next question would be is there a pinout available anywhere online? I'm sure I could figure it out with a multimeter, but a diagram would be convenient.

Didn't think to look. I do have the manual, I'll just check that. Thanks again.kernow wrote:The schematics should be in the manual if you've got it? I'm downloading the manual now to have a look.
Also, I'm located in the US--jst-mfg.com (the US site) has a minimum order of a box of 5000 pins O___O which comes out to $69, way more than I'd need. Is there any way to source these parts in lower quantities?

Oh yeah, also, I'm pretty sure one connector is male and the other is female on the 2P panel. I'll confirm which is what later when I'm at home . . .

Yeah, all my previous cabs have been Sega or R.S., hence my ignorance on JST. Never had an Egret or AWSD.

Sega have been using the same connectors as Sammy/Taito since 2005..fubarduck wrote:Yeah, all my previous cabs have been Sega or R.S., hence my ignorance on JST. Never had an Egret or AWSD.

Not sure what you're talking about, all my Sega control panels use Amp connectors including all 8 of my NNCs. Unless you're talking about the Lindbergh series which I also have no experience with. I had never seen a JST connector on a control panel before this Vewlix one.andygeezer wrote:Sega have been using the same connectors as Sammy/Taito since 2005..fubarduck wrote:Yeah, all my previous cabs have been Sega or R.S., hence my ignorance on JST. Naomi wiring harness is 1998 design, so will be Amp, but any new cab designed in 2005 or later is JST based.fubarduck wrote:Not sure what you're talking about, all my Sega control panels use Amp connectors including all 8 of my NNCs. Sega also changed the colour schemes after 20+ years!
Red is now +5V (was yellow), yellow is now +12V (was red), black is now GND (was white), I guess you could say it is Sammy not Sega anymore.. The last Lindbergh games where all out sourced, Rambo was done by the same people who did Maximum Tune on Chihiro (Polygon Magic).
I got JST versions of Naomi control panel harness, if you want to see a photo, but yeah would be madness to put them on the last NNCs as it would be backward compatability problems.

Re: Vewlix panel snap-on connectors: What are they?
So does anybody actually have some of these JST connectors (just want one each)? I can't find a SINGLE place that resells them separately, and the minimum order is 100pcs for each.

Do a picture of what you actually need, it will help people aide you, rather than just saying JST connectors.fubarduck wrote:So does anybody actually have some of these JST connectors (just want one each)? Those would be pictures of the connectors. So kernow, are those actually yours or did you just have photos lying around?
All I need are 1x Male 15 Pin and 1x Female 12 Pin.

Yeah, I would. Ideally, 20 of each (to give me some leeway for screw-ups). You're the master of all things good if you can hook me up. I turned on my PM box just for you.

Re: Vewlix panel snap-on connectors: What are they?
Necro bump.
Any ideas what the vewlix JST connecters are? There's only, so it must be 20 pin?
edit: Ignore
YLR-15V is P1 CP connector (15 pin)
YLR-12V is P2 CP connector (12 pin)
(corresponding contact: SYM-01T-P0.5)
Any idea where I can get some? I don't want to hack anything but do want to hook up a 360 pad hack. Anyone need to place a JST sample order or have some spare?

I now have the connectors (thankls Franco) and the time, but can't find the pinout for the CP
Does anyone have any info or am I going to have to work backwards form the CP end?
