Sammy (Tosh) Video World Control Panel - 1L6b/2L12b?
Hey guys,
There's a Sammy (Tosh) Video World cab (hope I'm typing out that name correctly) up for sale locally. The control panel looks to be hacked all to heck, though - drilled out for american neo geo joysticks with top-down bolts, and drilled out to add a 4th hole for the neo geo conversion.
Otherwise, it looks decent from the pictures, and is shown working (that's a plus!). I'm curious, are there 1L6B and 2L12B control panels available for these cabs? And if native CP's aren't soemthing that are readily available, are the CP's interchangeable from other cab(s)?

No. And unless I'm much mistaken it looks like these have a Pony Mk3 style CP - they are not a flat piece but bent with a lip.

You're right. I have one with a 2p 12b panel and if I were to ever lose that, the can may as well be useless. Too rare.cools wrote:No. And unless I'm much mistaken it looks like these have a Pony Mk3 style CP - they are not a flat piece but bent with a lip.

I ended up passing on this one. I noticed the monitor appeared to also no be original, and talke to the seller to confirm this. Too many hurdles of unobtainable parts to be a viable project...at least for me.
It is still up on craigslist all these months later.

You have one as well? I ended up picking up the cab OP is talking about. Is there any way you could post some pics of yours as there aren't many pics online.planexcvs wrote:You're right. Thank you! Mine seems to have two pieces. Maybe I should take the second part off.planexcvs wrote:Here you go.Blue0524 wrote:

Did they end up getting it?
IIRC Alberto was looking into overlays for these awhile back. I just got a prototype Mk3-25 panel that test fits fine on my ponies- if this is the same fitment then an overlay isn't too far fetched.

Re: Sammy (Tosh) Video World Control Panel - 1L6b/2L12b?
No. I'd never heard of the Sammy Video World so the panel spun me out when it turned up on my Pony search. Yosai pointed out the correct cabinet. I was relieved that it wasn't a Pony thing as it meant I could let it pass without bidding on it.
It does appear to have identical fixings and dimensions (other than the angle of the lip).
That's great news that Alberto's on the Pony case.
Let's save the pics before they expire...
By the way, this panel has had an extra 6 buttons drilled in (left top and right bottom rows). They're a bit wobbly.
